Airworthiness Directives; Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH Helicopters

May 11, 2012 - 77 FR 27661 - RIN: 2120-AA64 - Download Full Notice: Text | PDF

We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH (ECD) model EC135 helicopters, except the EC 135 P2+ and T2+. This proposed AD was prompted by two reports of the plain journal bearings moving in relation to the main rotor swashplate sliding sleeve (sliding sleeve). The actions specified by this proposed AD are intended to detect shifting of the plain journal bearing, which could limit the movement of the collective control and result in subsequent loss of control of the helicopter.

This is a proposed regulation. Comments were due on July 10, 2012.
